Dr. Bhavana J. Dave was a distinguished professor and clinical cytogeneticist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she held faculty positions in multiple departments, including Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology, Pediatrics, Genetics, Cell Biology, and Anatomy, and the Munroe-Meyer Institute. She also served as the director of the Warren G. Sanger Human Genetics Laboratory at Nebraska Medicine.
Dr. Dave was board-certified in clinical cytogenetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) and was a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG). A dedicated researcher and educator, Dr. Dave published over 140 peer-reviewed articles and mentored countless graduate students, medical residents, and fellows throughout her career. Her academic journey began with a PhD from the Gujarat Cancer Research Institute in Ahmedabad, India, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1995, where she became a respected faculty member, known for her compassion and expertise.
